The Hotz Group's journey began in the early 1900's. The Group was founded by Swiss nationals who introduced world-class hospitality to India with hotels and resorts in Shimla, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Kasauli. Over time, the Group evolved from its European inspired roots into a diversified Indian enterprise, driven by the belief that progress must be built on trust, integrity, and innovation

Since then, Hotz has expanded its footprint across multiple sectors - real estate and warehousing, financial services, manufacturing of steel, air conditioning and refrigeration, textiles and industrial gases, hospitality including food service retail, art and education, each venture reflecting a commitment to quality and lasting value. Guided by a vision for tomorrow, we continue to build with purpose, shaping experiences, environments, and opportunities that endure across generations.

OUR STORY

Incorporated as Hotz Hotels Private Limited in 1952, the company began with a focus on hospitality before diversifying into portfolio investments and financial services, manufacturing of various products, food service retail, art, education and real estate development. This spirit of diversification and reinvention has defined Hotz through every era, enabling the Group to adapt, innovate, and lead across industries.

From creating advanced warehousing and industrial infrastructure to supporting education and the arts, Hotz continues to balance business excellence with social responsibility. Corporate Philosophy.

The Hotz Group, established in the early 1900's, has its origins in four distinct and disparate cultures the Swiss, British, Australian and Indian. Yet it is a unique, cohesive entity that today is a leader in each of its chosen fields, a name that is synonymous with superior products, reliable services and total customer satisfaction.

MILESTONES

Early 1900's

Hotel development in Northern India - Hotel Cecil in Shimla, Wildflower Hall in Mashobra, Lauries in Agra and Delhi and Hotel Alasia in Kasauli.

1930's

The Jain family, led by patriarch Rai Bahadur Phool Chand Jain, establishes the construction business for the construction of roads and aerodromes in various parts of India pre independence.

1930's

Foray into HVAC with Durant, a partnership between the Durant and Jain families.

1940's

Mahabir Steel Rolling Mills established in Delhi.

1952

Incorporated as Hotz Hotels Private Limited.

1980's

The Jain family became controlling shareholders and consolidated all activities under the banner of the Hotz Group.

1986

Established the Industrial Gases division with the Surajpur plant that supplied Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon and other value-added products.

1990

Foray into Financial Services with Inter Corporate Deposits, Leasing and Hire Purchase and Bill Discounting.

1996

Established the Textile division at Greater Noida- one of the largest integrated facilities at that time covering various parts of the textile value chain including dyeing and processing, knitting and garmenting.

1996

Securities (One) India Limited, a Member of National Stock Exchange, and Invest (One)n India Limited were incorporated for a deeper foray into Financial Services.

1999

Round-the-Clock Stores Limited was incorporated as the National Developer for Ruby Tuesday restaurants in India. Over time more than 75 restaurants under various global brands including Ruby Tuesday, Sbarro and Haagen Dazs, and home-grown concepts such as Mircheez, Mandarin Trail, Prego and Indus Grill were established nationwide.

2007

The art business was established under the Vistaar and Seven Art trademarks. In 2012 the Group acquired a significant majority stake in Gallery Nature Morte and a new joint venture entity, Nature Morte Art Limited, was incorporated. Today Nature Morte is India's leading contemporary art company representing India's iconic contemporary artists with galleries in Delhi and Mumbai.

2014

The early education business under the Playful Minds brand was started in Delhi.

2019

The diversification into industrial real estate was initiated and one of India's largest Grade A warehouses was built by the company for the use of Samsung.
